The Men’s Shed is a gathering place for the men of Ashburton and surrounding suburbs; a supportive, social place where they can meet, chat, create and learn.
The Men’s Shed is open on Tuesdays and is located at the Alamein Train Station.
The Men’s Shed welcomes men aged 18 years and above and who have an interest or skills in woodwork, craft and conversation; the cornerstone of Men’s Shed is mateship.
There is a variety of projects on the go for local community groups, schools and organisations. Men are also free to pursue their own projects. Help is available for those who wish to improve their woodworking skills and we provide a range of tools for participants to use in their projects.
Past projects include maintaining wooden toys for childcare centres, making new toys for kindergartens, repairing furniture, building wildlife boxes as well as individual projects.
